Gift Box: A Thank You

We just finished up an amazing event and I love to close out the event with a thank you.  This time around, I had custom cookies made by my go-to baker here in Danville, Junebug Bakery.  I wanted the cookies to match our brand style and colors.

To build the package, we started with a small white shipping box and used one of our custom ROAR stamps to showcase our branding on the outside of the box (the majority of these were being shipped).  Brown kraft tissue paper and natural crinkle paper filler were part of the packaging as well.

Each person received 3 amazingly delicious shortbread cookies; a logo, a thank you and a star.  They were all packaged up with matching ribbon.  Included were our business cards and taped a personalized note on the inside of the box with wasbi tape that of course matched our colors.

I'm so excited for everyone to receive unexpected treat.

These are so easy to do and can be themed for a specific event and branded.  Imagine sending something like this as a room drop to your guests after an evening event.  Change up the packaging just a little and add some milk on ice and it would be an old fashioned treat.

Do you have an idea for one?  Let us know, we'd be happy to help.

{holidays} baking delights

The holidays just put me in the mood for baking.  Well - actually pretty much anything can get me in the mood.   Grab a fork - you might want to stay awhile.

Here are some delights that I've been dreaming about.

First up:

Citrus Olive Oil Cake - it doesn't sound like it would too sweet, but rather refreshing.  Looking at the picture...I could picture myself popping in a chick flick and eating the entire cake in one sitting.  Head over to one of my favorite baking blogs - Bakers Royale for the recipe.

Next up:

Peppermint Brownie Thins by the Gluten-Free Goddess Lisa of With Style and Grace.  By the looks of these beauties - I don't think you will be able to have just one.  Head over to With Style and Grace's website for the full recipe.  You'll probably get stuck checking out all her recipes because they all look so amazing and her photography is stunning.

What about this?

Doesn't this look amazing from Always with Butter?  I think I might be over my head with this one...but just looking at this Chocolate Molasses Cake with Salted Caramel Buttercream puts a smile on my face.

Bottom line - I think I'm going to be baking this weekend.  I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Baking :: The Oreo and Some Chocolate Chips

We're getting into the holiday spirit.  Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas is coming up fast and furiously.

So that means - HOLIDAY BAKING!!!

I've been in the kitchen this morning whipping some of my very favorite cookies - and I believe it might be the little misters favorite as well.

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Oh yes...I made them last year.  I originally saw the Brownie Oreo post on Picky Palate last holiday season, made those and they were a huge hit.  I decided to make chocolate chip ones also.  So yes indeedy...I've made them again.  I'm going to try different variations as well.  So far, I've used brownie mix and named them Brownie-O's and Chocolate Chips.  I've used regular stuffed oreos and double-stuffed.  I hate to say it...but the double-stuffed does add that extra little umf.  Next up are mini oreos - for some bite size goodness!

Yummy Yummy Treats Treats!

I had the honor of doing a little baking on Friday for one of my best girlfriends daughters Bat Mitzvah.

I have to say - I was super excited to be able to create some yummies and have them be pink and girlie!!

So what did I make...

Chocolate Chip Covered Oreos
Mini Doughnut Cupcakes
Brownie Pops

You all know how much I loved making the Brownie-O's over the holidays...if you want the recipe - click here.  Well, I saw on Becky Bakes that she made some with Chocolate Chip Cookies.  YUM! (OK - I didn't try them because I'm still on my cleanse - but the T-man had one and said - GREAT combination mom). I didn't use her recipe for the cookies - I used mine.

I test drove the mini doughnut cupcakes last week just to make sure they were going to turn out OK.  And when I made them on Friday - they came out just as good.  The only difference...PINK frosting.  I first saw this idea on the Farm Chicks blog.

Last but not least, I saw some really cute Brownie Pops on the Farm Chicks website too.  Mine didn't turn out like hers.  The Chocolate wasn't cooperating so I had to improvise.  I still think it worked.  T-man taste tested the pop with the chocolate all over and the chocolate just on the top and good thing he opted for just the chocolate on the top. :)

Now onto the fun packaging.  So all of these treats were being served at the lunch following the service. Everything had to be disposable so I was trying to figure out how to transport and serve everything.  So yup - you guessed it.  I decided to individually wrap everything.  Pink Bows and some Martha Stewart Decorative Tape along with some labels I made so everyone would know what they were eating.

This was so much fun.  It was a labor of love and I'm so happy that everyone enjoyed the treats.

xoxo,
Caryl
