PINteresting: Flowers

We're working on a event and trying to decide what direction we should go with the flowers.  Gotta love Pinterest to help with the inspiration.  I'll let you know what direction we go in the next few weeks.  But in the mean time - here are some of our favorites.  What about you?

Events: Simple Flower Arrangements

How many of you are familiar with Joyus?  It's a shopping website, but they have some really great videos about styling.  I came across this one about simple flower arrangements that anyone can do.

When styling a tables for an event, flowers can get really expensive.  In the video below, Kelley shows how to make some simple arrangements that won't break the bank.  My personal favorite vase is the $18 geometric vase.  This one is great for adding height to any table.

July Round-up

Whew - July has been an awfully busy month and it's not stopping.  I ran a 1/2 marathon at the beginning of the month - still wondering how I did that.  Shear determination I think. :)  We've had several events that were huge successes and squeezed in a great vacation in DC with the family.

August is going to be pretty non-stop too so time to buckle my seatbelt.

Color Crush:: Lavender

The soft, sweet shade of lavender is this weeks color crush.  I personally love lavender with a punch of a bright color, I think it makes such a statement.  But these soft shades of pastel just have me smitten.  It all looks so calming, except for the last picture which just looks like a really fun party.

Party Element:: Origami

I've been seeing origami swans and it got me thinking.  What a great party element.  You don't have to just create a swan.  Origami comes in all shapes and sizes and it's unique.  You can create an invitation, a backdrop for a dessert table, a seating placecard.  You name it.
