My Bedside Table

I wish there were more hours in the day to read.  There are so many books out there that I want to read.  I need to focus.  Ever have that problem?  You start a book and then someone tells you about another book that you HAVE to read.  Yup - happens all the time.

Several friends of mine told me about Still Alice.  When the third person told me I had to read it - I did.  My dad has alzheimer's and this is the story about Alice who has early onset alzheimer's.  It's told from her perspective and was very thought provoking for me.  It gave me such a better understanding of what goes through their minds.  I feel very grateful that my dad's alzheimers has been progressing slowly over the years (it's been 10 years now) and was able to be involved in many studies.  But one thing is for sure, alzheimer's is a disease that effects the entire family.  He is now in the late stages and feel very blessed that he is happy.

I just purchased Mom, Inc. a couple of nights at the West Elm book signing.  I'm looking forward to reading all the tips & tidbits from Meg and Cat.

Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project was one of the speakers at the ALT Summit this past January.  Her talk was so insightful, I had to get her book (which I'm currently reading).

My next purchase is going to be Paris in Color.

Do you have any favorite books?  Happy to hear some suggestions.
