A Dinner: Setting the Table

This has been a fun little series to spread out over a week.  Hopefully we've been building anticipation for part 3 of A Dinner.  (If you've missed part 1 & part 2 - links are at the bottom of this post.)  I have to say, this was one of my most favorite tables to set.  The space was just dripping with warmth.  The twinkle lights hanging from the rafters and the light bouncing off the windows just help to add to the ambiance of a spectacular evening.

Since we went with neutral pallet, we wanted add some color in the dining room, still keeping the vintage yet modern vibe, so we did that with the china, glasses, placecards and flowers.

Everything was personalized for this dinner.  We created custom menus and placecards and intermixed vintage china and glasses.  Nothing matched which made everything match.

Missed part 1?  Missed part 2?

Serving Up a Salad

Now this is the way to serve a salad at your next event or fête.  This image is just eye candy to me.

Unique.  Different.  Enough said.

The Inspired Office

Back to school shopping...office supplies...these are two favorite things.

I happened upon this lovely vintage office set-up from See Jane Work.  I love the mix of old and new.  Does your office reflect your style?  Mine is still a work in progress - but when it's done, I'll give you a tour.

Here are a few tips from Holly Bohn, Creative Director over at See Jane Work.

1. Clutter Control :: invest in essential elements in your favorite colors
2. Paper Management :: file box, letter trays, a sorter
3. Clunky :: dump the clunky black stapler and get one in a fabulous color
4. Plastic Pencil Cup :: begone - instead use something you might have at home

For more tips - check out her article in the Washington Post today.

Some of my personal favorites from the See Jane Work website:

Vintage Basket High - $22
Sticky Tab Dividers - $8
Jonathan Adler Magnetic Board - $18
Magnetic Birdie - $16
