Ocean House | Watch Hill, Rhode Island

Happy Friday!  Here is a little hotel eye candy as you head into the weekend.  I just stumbled on this darling little property – Ocean House and was hooked as soon as I saw the beach and ocean view.  (Oh and it's rated No. 13 from Travel + Leisure as Worlds Best Beach Resort to boot.)

This iconic New England seaside resort would be a fabulous property for an intimate incentive or an executive retreat with 49 guest rooms and 39 suites.

From a meeting perspective, this luxury property offers 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.  From grand ballrooms to private terraces with ocean views, the sky’s the limit.  I mean take a look at the picture above.  Can you just imagine an amazing summer party on that lawn?

This property can do it all and create an experience of a lifetime.  Picture lobster feeds on the beach to fishing trips; transformational leadership development to strategic board meetings; family reunions to spectacular weddings.

Who’s ready to pack their bags?

Wood Pallets & Kinfolk

I love Kinfolk Magazine.  Have you ever flipped through the pages?  I came across this photo online this morning and loved the simplicity.  I'm a huge fan of wooden pallets.  It brings in that organic, earthy feel into events.  To me - they immediately set the tone.

Kinfolk does these community gatherings and other events all over the world.  This one in particular was hosted in Los Angeles.  In April - they are hosting a flower potluck in the US as well as internationally.  You get to play with fresh flowers, meet new people and enjoy some amazing food.  How can you go wrong?  Man - I wish one of these events would be in the Bay Area.  This is definitely on my bucket list to attend.

Not Your Everyday Lunch

I just came across this photo on Pinterest and of course pinned it.

And then I went to the original website of the photographer (Eric Kelley Photography) that took the photo and was just dying over the photography.

I'm in LOVE with the hand lettering on the picnic box.  I mean - how fun is that?  What an unexpected surprise that all of your guests would notice.  (Note to self: I MUST do this for one of my events.)  Lindsay Letters did the hand-lettering.  You must check out her website - her work is gorgeous and I would like to be her best friend. :)

These images looked so familiar to me and I wasn't sure why - until I saw this photo and realized that this was from Southern Weddings.  No wonder I'm smitten.

I know, how could a picture of tomatoes remind me of Southern Weddings.  I was recently at a life changing conference, Making Things Happen with Lara Casey, Gina Zeidler and Emily Ley. (That's a post for another day.) They had a few Southern Weddings there and saw the picture of the tomatoes.  The coloring is unforgettable.

Hope y'all have a great Wednesday!  My next couple of days will be jam packed with busyness getting ready for a 600+ person event in San Francisco.  I can't wait to share what we are doing - it's going to be pretty spectacular.

The Inspired Table

From stunning florals and china to the menus and furniture, these images just ooze luxury.  Some are simple while others are ornate, but all have a common theme - gorgeous!

When I look at these tables, I get so inspired.  It makes me want to throw a party.  They would be beautiful for a wedding, a elegant soirée or intimate party for friends.  Which is your favorite?

Playing with Flowers

I've been arranging flowers for the past couple of years and starting to incorporate it into our service offerings to clients.  Normally I head to the flower mart in San Francisco to purchase all the pretty blooms.  This past Friday, I had the itch to create an arrangement, so instead of heading to the city, I headed to the local grocery store.  I purchased 2 bouquets for about $15 total.  Voila!

It always amazes me the difference between photographs taken at night vs. during the day.  Same flowers, but feel completely different.

How did I make this pretty arrangement?  In 3 easy steps!

Floral foam
2 bouquets of mixed flowers
1 wooden box vase

I love floral foam.  It's truly a flower arranging girls best friend and makes it so easy.  Step 1: Cut the foam to fit in your container, then soak it in water until it's completely water saturated.  Step 2: Once that's done, then put it in your container, in my case, it was the wooden box vase (that has a plastic liner).  Step 3: Now it's time to start cutting flowers and arranging your blooms.  Typically I like to start on the sides with my larger blooms, but I didn't have a ton of large flowers in these bouquets, so I started from the top.

For $15, I was able to transform two ordinary bouquets into something unique.  I love flowers and get so inspired by them.  So, of course it makes complete sense that I would have a pinterest board dedicated to pretty blooms.  Right?  Head on over to see what inspires me.  Would love to hear what inspires you.
